Snowdon Training Weekend
Nearly Wales time I am aiming to
set off on the long trek around 8am Friday from Liskeard at the moment my car
is full (dependant on Chris Coglans collar bone) with the aim of a gentle drive
up (approx 6 hours) to get settled in for the evening depending on arrival time
we may try to fit in a short trail run to ease out the travelling kinks, If you
are travelling up later and we are not in YHA we will be in Base Camp 2
Shortcut to: http://www.snowdoninn.co.uk/index.asp which is half mile down the road and
is the best real ale pub in Wales. Very late arrivals or non YHA residents the
training weekend proper I will start after breakfast at YHA Snowdon Ranger say
around 0830 Saturday morning please let me know if it has to be later with a
brisk dip in the lake we will then work it out a program from there to keep
everybody happy. If you have any things you wish to clarify before we set off
phone me on 01752 32 4704 (working hours) or 01579 348178 (evenings/weekends).
I will be taking a full
toolkit with me to cover any mechanicals so don’t worry about that. However I
do not think there is any decent bike/sport shop for miles so bring a few inner
tubes, gels etc. I also have some spare tyres I will bring along. Does anyone
have a decent first aid kit in case of any falls, crashes they can bring.
If you are trying to keep
costs down I can recommend the YHA food cheap as chips and very good although
Pete's Eats in Llanberris is a must at some time over the weekend.
For anybody else still umming
and arring its not to late to book up Shortcut to: http://www.yha.org.uk/find-accommodation/wales/hostels/snowdon-ranger/index.aspx if the YHA is full the pub above may
have accomadation, you may also be able to camp at the YHA but please check
with them.
Lets pray for sun but prepare
for anything at this time of year!
Regards
Graham
