AGM Thursday 4th April

15 March 2019
Written by: CHRIS ULLMAN

The East Cornwall Harriers AGM will take place on Thursday 4th April.

The date is slightly later than normal to enable us to review our new race, the Trepolpen Seythin, which as you know is happening on Sunday 31st March.

Every member should make every effort to come along so that you take the opportunity to have your say on any and every issue that affects your club.

As everyone knows, the club can only function as a result of the dedication and hard work by the committee. Coaches and members who volunteer throughout the year.

This year we will be trying a new format, where the evening will be split into two parts ;

Firstly : the formal AGM ‘business’.

Secondly : a ‘social’ event with a free buffet (!) and the Annual Awards.

There will be no run that evening. The meeting will be in the sports bar at Lux Park and the“Business” will start at 7:00pm (the bar will be open from 6:30).

All committee posts are always up for re-election, and anyone can nominate anyone else for any post. We know that the Social Secretary and Men’s and Ladies Captains are stepping down, so these will need to be filled.

If you wish to raise any issue and would like it to be included on the Agenda please contact our Secretary, Meeta, via email meeta.nicholls@googlemail.com by 21st April.

As soon as the business is concluded we will be able to move on to the social part of the evening.

Awards to be presented will include all the ‘Harrier of the Month’ recipients. Also we have the ‘Star’ Awards (race times for all members from the year converted into World Standard Age Related Scores to give a star score). These are also used to determine the ‘Most Improved Harrier’.

The ‘Harrier of the Year’, and ‘Penguin’ of the year are to be voted for on the evening. Neither of these is necessarily related to actual running – the former could be for the person you think has contributed most to the club, and the latter for any (genuine and decent !) reason you like.

See you all there.
