The Five Tors

The Five Tors is a challenging fell race of 8 miles in length. It starts from Minions and takes in Tregarrick Tor, Kilmar Tor, Bearah Tor, Sharp Tor, the Cheesewring. It then ascends the disused railway track back up to Minions. All of the route is offroad. While the Tors might sound the most difficult part of the race, there are also several steady ascents apart from the Tors, and the section along the disused railway track which still has the stone sleepers requires careful co-ordination and plenty of unsuspecting mudbaths to catch the unwary. This of course is before you even take into the consideration the weather, which has been known in previous years to snow, rain, hail, have fog obscure most of the route and very occasionally for a hot sun to bask down. Having said that it provides some of the most brilliant and beautiful countryside Cornwall has to offer and once you've done it, you may find yourself returning to it each year.

PLEASE NOTE: For safety reasons this year we will be implementing a cut off point and time during the race. All those running the race will need to get to the first drinks station at Wardbrook Farm (just over 3.5 miles) in 50 minutes or less. If you get to this point after this time you will be sent back to the finish without completing the middle section of the race. This has been put in place for the safety of the runners and for the marshals out on the course.
